Tour Scotland, Sample 7 Day Tour

Keep in mind is that there is no such thing as a Typical Itinerary for a Tour of Scotland. Not for me anyway. I specialize in matching itineraries to the needs and desires of group members. There will be opportunities to attend Highland Games and Music Sessions; play Golf or Fish or Walk or Shop. There are also many wonderful castles easily reached from historic Dunkeld, including: Glamis Castle, Blair Castle, Castle Campbell, Elcho Castle, Balvaird Castle, and, of course, Stirling Castle and Edinburgh Castle. Local gardens worth visiting, include; Branklyn Gardens and Cherrybank Gardens. Interesting museums include, Balhousie Castle, with the newly erected Celtic Cross honouring the Black Watch Soldiers who have died in the Iraq War.

Day 1.
Meet and greet you at Edinburgh Airport. Drive to South Queensferry for a breath of fresh air and to view the famous Forth Bridges on the River Forth. Drive North into Perthshire to Kinross where we will take a wee boat ride on Loch Leven to Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, Drive North again to Highland Perthshire and the beautiful town of Dunkeld. Day 3.
Full Scottish breakfast at The Atholl Arms Hotel. A beautiful drive today. First we will drive west out of Dunkeld then North through Glen Quaich (The Glen of Friendship ) to the old village of Kenmore on Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands. The Glen Quaich road is remote arid narrow and a beautiful drive. At Kenmore we will, weather permitting, take a wee cruise on Loch Tay. Lunch in Kenmore. After lunch we will drive North again over the Schiehallion Mountain (The Mountain of the Fairies ) This is another unique and beautiful drive to Kinloch Rannoch. From Kinloch Rannoch we will drive to Loch Tummel where we will stop at the famed, and scenic, Queen’s View, before returning to our base in beautiful Dunkeld. 3 Course Dinner and overnight at the The Atholl Arms Hotel.

Day 8.
Full Scottish breakfast at The Atholl Arms Hotel. Return you to the airport with fond memories of your unique small group tour of Scotland. It is vitally important though that Group Members tour Scotland in a flexible frame of mind as the daily itinerary may change depending on the weather conditions etc; Fixed-in-Stone itineraries do not allow the kind of freedom necessary to take advantage of the kind of cultural, sports and social opportunities that will often present themselves. Don't worry you'll still see everything you want to see, and much more !
