Tour Scotland Poltalloch Kilmartin Oban and Argyll Holiday Cottage. Set in the secluded and romantic landscape of the Poltalloch Estate, this former head gardener’s house makes a spacious and comfortable retreat. Standing detached, the property has been refurbished to a high standard and benefits from a large and mature garden. The house provides an ideal base for family holidays being situated amid the abundant archeological heritage of Kilmartin glen. Historic Crinan canal, with its 9-mile long walk, offers visitors a gentle ramble without being too exerting, and Crinan beach lies just a 10-minute drive away. The bustling town of Oban is easily accessible, from where visitors can take a boat trip to the Isles of Mull, Iona and Staffa – all of which make for interesting days out. Oban also offers a Sea Life Centre, an excellent distillery and plenty of pubs and restaurants, while for those seeking more energetic pursuits, there is excellent walking and water sports to be found. Head further south to explore the Mull of Kintyre or spend the day on the beach with no-one else for company except the seagulls. Closer to home, Lochgilphead offers a variety of shops and an indoor swimming-pool, whilst for the more energetic, there is plenty of hill-walking, riding and fishing available locally. With many historic castles and ruins to be found in the surrounding area, there is plenty to keep the whole family busy and entertained. Pub 2 miles.
