Tour Murthly Scotland. Murthly Castle Photographs. Murthly Castle and Chapel are in the heart of Scotland, occupying a spectacular position that overlooks the River Tay, near the historic town of Dunkeld. The castle, complete with walled garden, dates from the 15th century and sits amidst some of the oldest and tallest trees in the country. It is still a private family home, and has been inhabited by the same family since 1615. The chapel dates from the 17th century and is unusually large for a family chapel. Together, these make an idyllic setting for a Scottish Highland wedding.
