Tour Monzie Scotland. Monzie Photographs. Monzie Kirk was believed to have been dedicated to St Lawrence and as far back as 1535 Monzie was a prebend of Dunblane with a Reader. The first recorded Minister is shown as 1593. The current building dates from 1831 and in 1843 the Congregation was led out for the Disruption by the Rev. John Reid Omond. A wooden building was built the same year and was known as the Spale Kirk. This was replaced by a more substantial building in 1868 and in 1938 the United Free Church was closed, both Congregations again united in worship at Monzie.
