Several of Leven's lost landmarks are featured in this book, including the impressive Kirkland House, demolished c.1940, the original Bawbee Bridge, and the amazing Shell House on the promenade - a shell-encrusted extravaganza that was later joined by a similarly decorated bus. Elsewhere there are pictures of a giant boiler that had been manufactured at the Durie Foundry, old fishermen's houses in Henderson Street, and the ornate building that served first as a church, then the town hall, and finally as a cinema.
